Collaborative Leadership

Through the years it has become clear to me that we need to expand our imaginations when it comes to transforming our world. An important way to do this is through collaborative leadership.

There are countless opportunities to engage in collaborative practices that offer ways for people to contribute to the good of the whole. When people are given meaningful opportunities for contribution, they feel affirmed and held.

This is not to say that everyone “gets their way.” Rather, when systems engage in collaborative practices, more people feel invested, informed and willing to enact changes or programs, even if they don’t agree with every aspect.

A crucial part of collaboration is building trust. Trust is inspired when folks who are in positions of authority are trustworthy, authentic and transparent.

Collaborative leadership models can be learned through workshops and coaching. I have engaged in these practices for many years and am eager to share best practices.
